You DON_T mess with a professional wrestlerI guess they figure that since 140 MILLION dollars is at stake it_s worth a shot But to start things off Carli I_ve got a controversial new bill that_s just been approved in Mississippi. Republican Governor Phil Bryant signed House Bill 1523-the so-called Religious Freedom bill - into law. The measure allows businesses to refuse service based on religious objections. North Carolina recently enacted a similar law while the governor of Georgia was forced to VETO a version after pressure from the business community. The ACLU has already condemned the new legislation saying that it flies in the face of the basic American principles of fairness justice and equality. Porsche is NOT responsible for the car accident that killed Hollywood actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas in November 2013. This according to a federal judge who made the ruling in response to a wrongful death lawsuit from Rodas_ widow. She claimed that the car-maker was liable because the Porsche Carrera GT they were driving lacked crucial safety features that could have prevented their deaths. Two other cases against Porsche from Walker_s daughter and father are still pending. And no surprises here: Gawker Media is trying to get out of paying that 140 million dollar judgement for posting Hulk Hogan_s sex tape online The website has filed new motions asking to vacate the ruling or at the very least to reduce the payout to just under 2 million. Lawyers for Gawker claim that the jury was guided by passion and prejudice instead of facts and that the damages are up to TWELVE times higher than similar awards. Carli I say we settle this once and for all: Gawker founder Nick Denton and Hulk in a wrestling ring and Hulk gets to do WHATEVER he wants to Nick for 10 minutes. Sounds fair right?I_D definitely watch but I_m not sure what would be more expensive for Nick the jury award or the HOSPITAL bill Thanks very much Elise.
