The event - hosted at the White House - is dedicated to finding new ways to prevent terrorist attacks like the ones seen recently in Canada Australia and Western Europe. US Vice President Joe Biden kicked things off by celebrating America_s melting pot culture a model he believes European nations should be trying to emulate. The White House has been careful to not name the Islamic State terror group as the focus of the talks. A senior official told the press that terror comes in all shapes and size and that Muslim communities who reject extremism would risk further isolation if the government focused only on talking about radical cells. In other news Greece is expected to submit a request to the Eurozone for a six-month loan extension. The move is not an extension of the country_s current bailout agreement with the EU and IMF. Instead it_s an attempt by the nation_s new left-wing government designed to give Greece a lifeline while sidestepping harsh austerity measures. Without a new deal soon it_s possible that Greece will run out of money by the end of the month. And our viewers across Asia are celebrating the start of the Lunar New Year In China hundreds of millions of people have returned home to be with family and celebrate the start of the year of the sheep The Lunar New Year is the world_s largest annual human migration with more than three billion passenger trips by plane train and automobile over the forty day period.
